    Course Syllabus

The program starts from perceptive experiences of interior spaces which have the appearance of open spaces. Archeological sites in Campania and agricultural courts are good example for the first steps with drawings, synoptical schemes and free suggestions for design. The view of these places affects, not only on the perception of an interior natural space, but also on the quality of architectural detail, which capabilities of designing at architectural detail indoor spaces, with sensibility towards natural elements like light, sound, wind, air, water.
Starting from here, new perspectives of sustainable design are followed. The course is divided into two phases: a first building concept designing process into the classroom, firstly moving onto the plane of perceptive experience: and leaving unchanged the image of a small rural building in its landscape while recovering it. On the one hand, students are advised not change the unique architectural aspect, but on the other hand they should have significantly reduced amount of energy consumption. A second phase is a computer aided analysis of daylighting questions, rainwater harvesting procedures, innovative technologies for sustainability. At the end of the course students are requested to provide specific details for each solution.
