    Fondamenti dell'architettura classica. Fondamenti dell'architettura medievale e moderna. Fondamenti dell'architettura contemporanea e dell'attualità. Introduzione alla Storia del Design.
    Periodizzazione della Storia del Design dal Cinquecento al primo Novecento. Approfondimenti su opere e contesti di particolare significato storico-artistico preferibilmente presenti nel territorio di appartenenza della Seconda Università degli Studi di Napoli per premettere agli studenti la fruizione diretta degli stessi. Approfondimenti su argomenti teorici di particolare interesse per la formazione degli studenti anche in relazione degli argomenti affrontati in altre discipline del corso di studi.

    Testi di riferimento

    Manuali di Storia dell'Architettura e di Storia del Design a scelta dello studente. Per eventualii approfondimenti assegnati singolarmente agli studenti, la bibliografia di riferimento viene fornita durante il corso in relazione agli argomenti trattati.

    Obiettivi formativi

    Dotare gli studenti degli elementi fondamentali della disciplina della storia dell'architettura. Trasmettere la consapevolezza che la conoscenza della storia dell'architettura e del design è essenziale per un corretto approccio alle attività progettuali.

    Prerequisiti

    Conoscenza degli elementi basilari delle discipline storico-artistiche apprese nelle scuole superiori.

    Metodologie didattiche

    Lezioni frontali con supporto di immagini, elaborazione individuale di elaborati concordati in aula, eventuali sopralluoghi.

    Metodi di valutazione

    Verifica durante il corso degli approfondimenti assegnati singolarmente agli studenti.

    Programma del corso

    Il corso di Storia dell'Architettura e del Design intende fornire agli studenti gli elementi fondamentali della disciplina della storia dell'architettura. Trasmettere la consapevolezza che la conoscenza della storia dell'architettura e del design è essenziale per un corretto approccio alle attività progettuali. Durante lo svolgimento del corso saranno esposti i principi basilari per un corretto approccio alla storia dell'architettura e del design e trattati argomenti teorici inerenti la disciplina. Saranno esposti ed illustrati i fondamenti dell'architettura classica; dell'architettura medievale e moderna; dell'architettura contemporanea e dell'attualità. Sarà esposta una introduzione alla Storia del Design e proposta una periodizzazione della Storia del Design dal Cinquecento al primo Novecento. Saranno proposti approfondimenti su opere e contesti di particolare significato storico-artistico preferibilmente presenti nel territorio di appartenenza della Seconda Università degli Studi di Napoli per premettere agli studenti la fruizione diretta degli stessi. Potranno essere proposti approfondimenti su argomenti concordati con docenti di altre discipline del corso di studi. Indicazioni bibliografiche saranno fornite durante il corso in relazione agli argomenti trattati. Saranno effettuare verifiche periodiche degli elaborati prodotti dagli studenti e colloqui preliminari all'esame.

    Principles of classical architecture. Principles of medieval and modern architecture. Principles of contemporary architecture. Principles of the architecture of the present. Introduction to the History of Design. Periodization of the History of Design from the sixteenth to the early twentieth century. Insights on architectural contexts and design objects of particular historical-artistic significance. Some architectural works present in the nearby area of the University Department of Aversa will be chosen for more in-depth studies to allow students to enjoy directly them.Architectures subject to more detailed studies will be chosen Theoretical insights will be chosen in relation to the topics covered during the year in other disciplines of the course of study.

    Textbook and course materials

    Manuals of History of Architecture and History of Design chosen by the students. Bibliographical references will be provided in relation to the topics covered during the year. Each student will be given bibliographical references for individual exercises.

    Course objectives

    Equipping students with the fundamental elements of the disciplines of architectural history and design history. Convey the awareness that knowledge of the history of architecture and design is essential for a correct approach to project activities.

    Prerequisites

    Knowledge of the basic elements of the historical-artistic disciplines learned in high schools.

    Teaching methods

    Frontal lectures with image support. Individual elaboration of papers agreed in the classroom. Visits to architectural complexes of particular interest for the training of students.

    Evaluation methods

    Checks of in-depth exercises assigned individually to students during the course. Discussion on theoretical topics and individual exercises in the final exam.

    Course Syllabus

    The course of History of Architecture and Design aims to provide students with the fundamental elements of the discipline. The teacher intends to convey to the students the awareness that knowledge of the history of architecture and design is essential for a correct approach to project activities. During the course the basic principles for a correct approach to the history of architecture and design will be exposed and theoretical topics concerning the discipline will be discussed. The basic topics and the most famous buildings of classical architecture, of medieval and modern architecture, of contemporary architecture will be exhibited and illustrated. A periodization of the History of Design from the sixteenth to the early twentieth century will be exposed. The teacher will guide the students in research and in-depth studies on architectural contexts of particular historical and artistic significance preferably present in the territory of belonging of the Second University of Naples to allow guided tours on the spot. In-depth studies on topics agreed with professors of other subjects may be proposed. Bibliographic indications will be provided during the course in relation to the topics covered. Periodic checks will be carried out on the works produced by the students. Before the final exam students will be able to discuss the topics covered during the course with the teacher.
