    Il programma d'insegnamento è diviso in macro-argomenti che riguardano la lingua inglese nel mondo, con particolare riguardo all'interazione con altri ambiti di studio, per esempio, la comunicazione interculturale; lingua e social media; lingua e media tradizionali; lingua per scopi speciali.
    Si procederà allo studio dei macro-argomenti attraverso le strategie di rielaborazione e sintesi dei contenuti ai fini di facilitare l'acquisizione di una serie di abilità linguistiche fondamentali per continuare lo studio della lingua anche in altri ambiti di studio.
    Il programma, partendo dai contenuti culturali che riguardano l'insegnamento, metterà in risalto e tratterà in modo integrato l'utilizzo della lingua nelle sue caratteristiche funzionali, grammaticali e fonetiche.

    Obiettivi formativi

    Gli obiettivi principali del corso sono:
    1) sviluppare la capacità d’uso della lingua inglese e rafforzare la capacità di interazione comunicativa con un arricchimento delle competenze trasversali ed interculturali nei paesi anglofoni;
    2) approfondimento ed ampliamento delle competenze linguistiche nelle quattro abilità di base: reading, writing, listening e speaking;
    3) migliorare la comprensione e l’uso della grammatica inglese con conoscenze delle strutture e funzioni linguistiche al livello B1 del Common European Framework;
    4) sviluppare la comprensione di testi tecnico-professionali e scientifici;
    5) acquisire la capacità d’uso del linguaggio specifico;
    6) incoraggiare gli studenti a studiare in modo autonomo.

    L’obiettivo generale del modulo è fornire gli strumenti necessari per riuscire a comprendere i punti chiave di argomenti che riguardano lo studio, il tempo libero e la vita quotidiana. Sapere muoversi con disinvoltura in situazione che potrebbero verificarsi nel paese in cui si parla la lingua inglese. Essere in grado di descrivere esperienze ed avvenimenti, sogni, speranze ed ambizioni, inoltre spiegare brevemente le ragioni delle proprie opinioni ed anche dei propri progetti.

    Prerequisiti

    Una conoscenza della lingua inglese almeno pari al livello B1 del Quadro Comune Europeo di Riferimento per la lingua inglese.

    Metodologie didattiche

    Il corso seguirà un approccio all’apprendimento della lingua inglese di tipo comunicativo, con la metodologia impiegata è “student-centred” in cui l’alunno è il centro del percorso formativo. Un “Needs Assessment” permetterà di conoscere meglio i partecipanti al corso, e prendere coscienza delle loro esigenze, bisogni, interessi, e preferenze. Gli argomenti proposti consentiranno di presentare strutture e funzioni della lingua in situazione reali. Dopo una presentazione frontale iniziale, gli studenti sono coinvolti in attività di “brain storming”, “pair-work”, “group-work”, “problem-solving” e “discovery exercises”. Sono impiegnati in attività di comunicazione spontanea, in particolare, in dialoghi, monologhi, questionari, descrizioni di immagini, test d’ascolto, letture e questionari, “cloze-test” e “fill-in-the-gaps”, completamento di tabelle e di esercizi grammaticali finalizzati al raggiungimento di una correttezza formale.
    Il corso comincerà con lo studio progressivo della grammatica e del vocabolario, a cui verrà associato una varietà di compiti di lettura, scrittura, ascolto e comunicazione orale. Il programma introdurrà le abilità dello studio (study skills) della lingua inglese e includerà degli approfondimenti del vocabolario specifico. Sin dall’inizio del corso gli studenti verranno incoraggiati a comunicare in lingua inglese. Al termine del modulo, gli studenti saranno pure incoraggiati a sostenere una breve presentazione (individuale o di gruppo) in lingua inglese. Gli argomenti oggetto di presentazione saranno decisi durante lo svolgimento del modulo.

    Metodi di valutazione

    L’esame consiste in una prova scritta sugli argomenti trattati e serve a verificare le abilità linguistiche maturate dallo studente durante lo svolgimento del corso.
    La prova ha un punteggio totale di 60 (livello di sufficienza per superare la prova: 36); consiste in un test di verifica grammaticale di livello B2 del QCER con varie tipologie di esercizi: scelta multipla, completamento testo, lettura e compressione di un brano e scrittura.

    Lo studente deve mostrare un idoneo grado di conoscenza delle cognizioni teoriche relative all’insegnamento. La valutazione terrà conto della capacità dello studente di utilizzare il linguaggio tecnico della disciplina

    Certificazioni linguistiche:
    il possesso di eventuali certificazioni linguistiche di livello B2 in poi, ottenuto da un ente certificatore riconosciuto dal MIUR e rilasciato non più di tre anni dall'anno dell'insegnamento, dovranno essere esibiti per avere conferma di validità.
    Tali certificazioni esonerano il possessore dalla PROVA SCRITTA, con la riserva di accertare il reale possesso, durante un colloquio orale, del livello dichiarato ed effettivamente posseduto.

    The course syllabus is divided into macro-topics relating to English in the world, with particular regard to interaction with other fields of study, for example, intercultural communication; language and social media; traditional language and media; language for special purposes.
    The macro-topics will be studied through the strategies of re-elaboration and synthesis of the contents in order to facilitate the acquisition of a series of fundamental linguistic abilities to continue the study of the language in other fields of study.
    The course, starting from the cultural contents concerning teaching, will highlight and treat the use of the language in its functional, grammatical and phonetic characteristics.

    Course objectives

    The main objectives of the course are:
    1) develop the ability to use English and strengthen communicative interaction with an enrichment of transverse and intercultural skills in English-speaking countries;
    2) greater understanding and knowledge of the four basic language skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking;
    3) improve the understanding and use of English grammar with knowledge of the structures and language functions to the Common European Framework level B1/B2;
    4) develop an understanding of technical, professional and scientific texts;
    5) acquire the ability to use the specific language;
    6) to encourage students to study independently.

    The overall objective of the module is to provide the tools necessary to be able to understand the key points of topics that concern the study, work leisure and everyday life. Knowing how to deal with most situations that might arise in the country where English is spoken. Be able to describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions, also briefly explain the reasons for opinions as well as projects.

    Prerequisites

    A knowledge of English at least equal to the level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for the English language.

    Teaching methods

    The course will follow a communicative approach, with a "student-centred" methodology in which the student is the centre of the learning process. A "Needs Assessment" will know the students better and become aware of their needs, needs, interests, and preferences. The proposed topics will present the language structures and functions in real situations. After an initial frontal presentation, students are involved in activities of "brainstorming", "pair-work", "group-work", "problem-solving" and "discovery exercises". They will be involved in spontaneous communication activities, in particular, dialogues, monologues, questionnaires, image descriptions, listening tests, readings and questionnaires, "cloze-test" and "fill-in-the-gaps", completing tables and grammatical exercises aimed at reaching a formal correctness.
    The course will begin with the progressive study of grammar and vocabulary, which will be associated with a variety of reading, writing, homework, listening and speaking exercises. The program will introduce study skills of the English language and include specific vocabulary. From the beginning of the course, students will be encouraged to communicate in English. After completing this module, students will also be encouraged to support a short presentation (individual or group) in English. The topics for the presentation will be decided during the course of the module.

    Evaluation methods

    The exam consists of a written test on the topics covered and verifies the language skills acquired by the student during the course.
    The test has a total score of 60 (the minimum to pass the test: 36); the level of the of the test is B2 according to the CEFR with various types of exercises: multiple choice, text completion, reading comprhension and writing.

    The student must show a suitable degree of knowledge of the theoretical knowledge related to the course. The final evaluation will take into account the student's ability to use the technical language of the subject.
    The final grade is expressed: PASS/FAIL

    Other information

    Language certification:
    Students who possess a language certificate, B2 upwards, obtained by a certifying body recognised by the MIUR and issued no more than three years prior to year of the course must present it to confirm its validity.
    The certificate will exempt the holder from the WRITTEN TEST, with the reserve to verify the declared level during an interview.
