Department of Architecture and Industrial Design: laboratory of ideas, workshop of projects, building site of experiences.

The Department of Architecture and Industrial Design (DADI) was born in 2012 as an institutional transformation of the Faculty of Architecture "Luigi Vanvitelli", founded in the early nineties. It is located in the Abbey of San Lorenzo in Septimum in Aversa, gravitating around the sixteenth-century large cloister.

The training offer follows the two parallel souls: architecture and design.

In the field of architecture, the offer is divided into a single cycle Master degree course in Architecture (5 years); a three-year Bachelor degree course in Building Science and Technology (Bachelor); a two-year Master degree course entirely in English in Architecture - Interior Design and for Autonomy.

In the field of design, the offer includes two three-year Bachelor degree courses, in Design and Communication and in Design for Fashion; a two-year Master degree course in Design for Innovation.

The DADI considers central the relationship between teaching staff and students. They are constantly involved in laboratory activities, workshops, events with the participation of national and international speakers. They have the opportunity to follow courses for learning English and computer skills, to participate to internships periods in public and private institutions and to study abroad for specific periods.

DADI supports basic and applied research programs with the involvement of young people trained in excellent PhD courses. The presence of up-graded laboratories and the different skills of the teaching and research staff of the Department guarantees highly interdisciplinary research, innovation and experimental development activities.

The DADI organizes the cycle of events Storie di architettura e design (Stories of architecture and design) which are held every Wednesday at the Abbey of San Lorenzo. Conferences, exhibitions, meetings and debates involve protagonists of the culture of design and of the profession, representatives of the world of academia, administration and business, in a perspective of confrontation and innovation.

Every year DADI publishes a Yearbook of the didactic activities. Through the images of projects, prototypes and studies developed as well as exhibitions and other events organized, the Yearbook wants to retrace a year of life in common and to underline the degree of knowledge and maturity in the fields of architecture and industrial design acquired by the students during an academic year.
