Contenuti | FONDAMENTI DI MECCANICA: Leggi e teoremi fondamentali. Unità di misura e analisi dimensionale. Vincoli. Classificazione delle forze. Sistemi di riferimento. Equilibrio e stabilità. Dinamica. Lavoro e energia. |

Course objectives | The understanding of equilibrium of bodies is essential to those who wish to design efficient structures in the Architectural field. This course introduces the students to rigid body equilibrium concepts and to the analysis of simple structural models: from the Kinematic analysis to the diagram of internal forces |
Prerequisites | The student is assumed to have a firm grasp of basic notions of mathematics, physics, analytical and descriptive geometry. |
Teaching methods | Interactive classes. Thematic seminars and an interdisciplinary workshop on the statics of real structures will contribute to the understanding of the theory and its application to real structures. |
Evaluation methods | Two assessment tests during the quadrimester and a final exam. |
Other information | Evaluation of the acquired understanding of fundamental concepts of the field of study and ability to apply these concepts in a variety of contexts, in general simple cases. |
