Contents | Basic elements of experimental mechanics in a material testing laboratory. |
Textbook and course materials | The main text reference indicated to the student consists of the handouts provided and the course notes taken in first person by the student in the classroom. |
Course objectives | The essential objective of the course is to provide students with knowledge and tools for the critical evaluation of the 'Firmitas' and Sustainability of a real simple structure through critical analysis of the results of a simple experimental test and critical analysis of the results of simple structural modelling. |
Prerequisites | Knowledge and understanding of the basic elements of Statics and Science of Construction in both their Theoretical and Technical facets. |
Teaching methods | Classroom lessons with the help of digital tools |
Evaluation methods | During the course, the student draws up a project work consisting in the verification, on samples of simplicity appropriate to the educational purposes, of the structures and materials of a building. The student is given the possibility to draw inspiration for the theme of the project work from the verification of a subset of the structures and materials of their home building. If desired, students also have the opportunity to expand and deepen the project work study by linking it to master degree thesis activities. |
Course Syllabus | Without prejudice to the objectives and general topics of the course, the detailed extension of the program is autonomously established upstream by the student according to the needs of documentation and critical understanding specifically posed by their own project work. |
