Contents | The main aim of each topic of the course is to gain knowledge and understanding of civil structural and environmental engineering artifacts and acquire the ability to describe their configuration. Even considering the transformations occurred in terms of communication in the digital and the current post digital times it is necessary for students to become aware of the value of representation. In other words, it is fundamental to understand why and how the elements are sectioned and projected to deconstruct the complexity of the reality that is observed so as to appropriately interpret and extract the geometrical structures and the relevant information to adequately operate in the chosen professional field |
Textbook and course materials | A ”Guide” (currently in preparation) will be made available at [https://teams.microsoft.com/l/team/19%3aKI8CVniVwGWQlPJ2UTEYieT2343_1yAPi1BFftnonco1%40thread.tacv2/conversations?groupId=4f5f0959-88c6-461c-a74e-b3584302f446&tenantId=8f547aef-14d7-49ca-a4d4-51a6c5cb92c1] |
Course objectives | At the end of the course students are expected to know the fundamental criteria underlying representation methods and to be able to apply the technical principles needed to describe the analyzed artifact with an appropriate level of geometrical detail. |
Prerequisites | Secondary school minimum subject knowledge. |
Teaching methods | Lectures will provide the template for self study. Guided practice sessions will be integrated with seminars and workshops to attract interest and motivate the learners to probe further. |
Evaluation methods | Consecutive work cycles have been planned. |
