Il corso affronterà lo studio delle principali tematiche del Design moderno e contemporaneo. Le lezioni saranno orientate alla conoscenza della cultura e tradizione orafa, attraverso lo studio del contesto storico e artistico italiano ed europeo.
Una parte del corso sarà organizzata come un laboratorio di ricerca, basato su esercitazioni di produzione creativa sullo sviluppo del concept di un elemento di Design Orafo.

I testi di riferimento saranno forniti durante il corso.

Obiettivo del corso sarà quello di utilizzare la conoscenza delle tecniche di realizzazione dei gioielli, la storia delle arti applicate e degli elementi caratterizzanti l'oreficeria delle epoche passate per la creazione di nuovi progetti di oreficeria contemporanea. Lo studente sarà, quindi, seguito dal docente nello sviluppo di un processo di personale elaborazione progettuale che porti l'allievo a maturare una propria identità di Designer Orafo.

Conoscenza della storia delle arti applicate e della storia del gioiello.

Il corso si svolgerà in una doppia modalità:
- Lezioni frontali introduttive sul tema del design orafo moderno e contemporaneo;
- Laboratorio sullo sviluppo di un tema concordato con lo studente.

L'esame verterà sull'esposizione orale e sulla presentazione di un progetto digitale sul tema concordato, preceduto da una breve relazione cartacea e schede tecniche sull'analisi dei modelli storici, della materia e delle tecniche di realizzazione utilizzate.

Il corso sarà correlato all'insegnamento di "Innovazioni per il Design Orafo".

The course will deal with the study of the main themes of modern and contemporary design. The lessons will be oriented towards the knowledge of the jewellery culture and tradition, through the study of the Italian and European historical and artistic context. Part of the course will be organised as a research workshop, based on creative production exercises on the development of the concept of a jewellery's design element.

The reference texts will be provided during the course.

The objective of the Course will be to use the knowledge of jewellery making techniques, the history of applied arts and the elements characterising the jewellery of past eras for the creation of new contemporary jewellery designs. Therefore, the student will be followed by the professor in the development of a personal design process that will lead the student to develop his/her own identity as a jewellery designer.

Knowledge of the history of applied arts and the history of jewelery.

The course will be conducted in a dual mode:
- Introductory lectures on the topic of modern and contemporary jewels design.
- Workshop on the development of a theme agreed with the student.

The examination will focus on the oral exposition and presentation of a digital project about the agreed theme, preceded by a short paper and technical sheets on the analysis of the historical models, the material and the manufacturing techniques used.
